From time to time I have to give a presentation to a group of my top referral sources.

Is it scary?

Yes, it was scary!

I teach presentation skills…I am an expert in presentation skills and public speaking. Was I nervous?

I SURE WAS!

Even the most seasoned speakers get nervous. How do they conquer the fear, doubt and uncertainty? They practice until they like what THEY hear and prove to themselves that they can deliver a great presentation.

Practice makes you more competent. When you are more competent, you become more confident. When you are confident, you can stand out and own the room. Whenever you have a speaking assignment…be it a five-minute presentation, a one-minute eulogy or a ten-second toast – prepare with care. Start by checking your content. Make sure you are saying what you want to say.

A Top Secret to a terrific presentation is this…When done you want to come out a winner.

You must plan to win…prepare to win…and most importantly expect to win.

Break through the fears of Public Speaking and own the room.
